Science Kids goal is to get kids outside, where great learning happens! Established in 2009, we provide our youth with the finest outdoor science opportunities. We give children access to the highest quality of instruction while also fostering a respect and understanding of the natural world. Our instructors have advanced degrees in their chosen fields, and all have extensive teaching experience as well. Our summer class sizes are typically limited to twelve children, with an upper limit of fourteen. A required 6:1 ratio of student to staff means that the other main goal of making safety a priority is met.
We explore a number of different outdoor locations throughout the course of any summer class. The classes utilize a variety of private and public lands. Your child will learn first-hand about this wonderful backyard we call Wyoming.
While the main part of our program takes place during the summer, Science Kids works throughout the year to bring science programming to communities as well. In addition to sponsoring lectures, we work with teachers to offer in-class programming. Our school-year offerings include Science Saturday, in collaboration with Sheridan College, and Unplug, in collaboration with the Sheridan Community Land Trust, and Learning Festivals in collaboration with many agencies and school districts These programs are free of charge. For dates and times, email us and we’ll get you on the mailing list. Being on our mailing list also enables you to be plugged into other local educational activities in your area. We won't share your email address, we promise!
Science Kids currently has a presence in Sheridan, Cody, Greybull, Meeteetse, Worland and Buffalo, Wyoming. We have also taught classes in Powell, Thermopolis, Tongue River and Laramie, Wyoming.
